Odacantha melanura is a species of Coleoptera insects of the family Carabidae and subfamily Harpalinae (or Odacanthinae according to classifications). This species lives among reeds and other marsh plants. Eurasian, widely spread in Europe, from Portugal to Scandinavia, Russia, Turkey, absent from Corsica and Sardinia. Order Coleoptera, Suborder Adephaga, Family Carabidae, Subfamily Harpalinae.
