The mouse-colored tyrannulet (Phaeomyias murina) is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae, the tyrant flycatchers. It is monotypic within the genus Phaeomyias. It occurs in a wide range of scrubby and wooded habitats in tropical and subtropical South America. Some recent authorities have suggested it should be split into two species: The widespread mouse-colored tyrannulet (Phaeomyias murina) and the Tumbesian tyrannulet (Phaeomyias tumbezana) in western Ecuador and north-western Peru. The two are visually very similar, but vocally distinct. Order: Passeriformes, Family: Tyrannidae, Genus: Phaeomyias, Species: Phaeomyias murina (Spix, 1825).
