The animal is a chiton. They are a shallow water mollusc. I think
they're predators of other molluscs. Sorry I can't get specific about
what kind of chiton, though. Hope this helps.

This is a chiton, a segmented marine animal. Kind of like a saltwater snail
with armor plating. Nice shot though.
